New Kids on the Block did it. So did the Backstreet Boys. Now it’s New Edition‘s turn. The ’80s R&B boy band is reuniting with all its six members for a tour.
Ronnie DeVoe, Bobby Brown, Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins, Ralph Tresvant and Johnny Gill will take the stage together for a 28-date tour, dubbed the All Six Tour, beginning June 26 at the Foxwoods Casino in Ledyard, Connecticut, and concluding August 3 in Los Angeles.
The full complement of members reunited in 2011 at the Essence Music Festival and played some additional dates then, a schedule disrupted when Brown was forced to miss some shows following the death of ex-wife Whitney Houston.
The group is best remembered for it’s ’80s hits “Candy Girl” and “Mr. Telephone Man,” as well as the hit “Poison” for spin-off group Bell-Biv-DeVoe.
New Edition is also at work on an album of new material expected later this year.
The All Six Tour will hit New York, Atlanta, Dallas, Boston, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C., among other cities. For a complete list of tour dates visit OfficialNewEdition.com.
