Just a week after tweeting his excitement about opening up for Eminem, Earl Sweatshirt has something else to be excited about: his major label debut, Doris, has debuted at #5 on the Billboard 200 chart.
The disc sold 49,000 units in its first week in stores, according to Nielsen Soundscan, and also debuted at #1 on the Rap Albums chart, according to Billboard.
In other Earl news, the Odd Future member will close out his busy summer by finishing up the last few dates on his tour. He’ll travel to Los Angeles, Washington, D.C. and New York City before wrapping up in Las Vegas, performing at the Life is Beautiful Festival on October 26.
Elsewhere on the chart, A$AP Ferg‘s debut album Trap Lord entered the Billboard 200 at #9 and the Rap chart at #2, moving 32,000 units. Rounding out the top ten on the Billboard 200 chart this week is Jay-Z‘s Magna Carta…Holy Grail, which slipped from 6-10 with an additional 30,000 copies sold.
