Following his raw verses on “Draft Day,” Drake now has unleashed a slow-tempo song, “Days in the East.”
The moody track has caused many of Drizzy’s fans to wonder if he’s singing about his rumored girlfriend, Rihanna, who recently relocated to New York. Drake sings, “Spending all my days on the East side/Forgetting who I was on the other side up/Young n***a switchin’ up the program right now/Tryna put the power in my own hands right now.”
The rumored couple, already dubbed “Aubrih,” have a past of hooking up, which Drake seems to reference with the line, “Waiting for you to give in and hit me up/So I can fall through like old times and hit it up.” Also, at one point in the song, a brief portion of Rihanna’s “Stay” can be heard.
“Days in the Easst” is available to stream and download now on Drake’s Soundcloud page.
