Looks like Drake and Lil Wayne had good reason to appear as animated characters in the official trailer for their upcoming outing, dubbed the Drake vs. Lil Wayne Tour. The entertainers have announced that they’ve teamed with a video game company to launch an app inspired by the popular video game Street Fighter.
According to Billboard, the rappers have partnered with Capcom to create an interactive app called DvsLW, which will allow concertgoers to pick a side — Weezy is depicted as Sage while Drake’s character is named Protégé. During each night’s rap battle, users can hit a “button mash” to help their favorite rapper “power up” in real time.
“We are both thrilled that our fans will get the unique opportunity to join us in this interactive experience,” Drake and Lil Wayne said in a statement.
The news comes just a day before the rap moguls’ 31-city trek begins August 8 in Buffalo, New York, with stops in major markets including Chicago, Atlanta, San Francisco, Houston, Dallas and Los Angeles.
