Drake Samples Lauryn Hill in New Song “Draft Day”

by

Cash Money RecordsDrake surprised his legion of fans by unleashing a new explicit song “Draft Day,” which samples Lauryn Hill‘s 1998 hit “Doo-Wop (That Thing).”

During the five-minute song, which was produced by Boi-1da and The Fans, Drizzy avoids responding directly to Jay Z‘s “We Made It” diss, but he does seem to throw in some subtle digs at his competition.

“How the game turn into the Drake show? / Dawg, what the f**k happened to so and so? / Where did they go? / Too worried about bitches and fashion, they go missin’ in action,” he raps on the track, available on his SoundCloud page.

After telling Jennifer Lawrence that she “can get it,” Drake name-checks Chance the Rapper. “If I left this sh** to chance, I would’ve picked a name like Chance the Rapper / No offense ’cause I don’t know that ni**a,” he spits.
