by

Cash Money RecordsDrake, how’s the view from the top of the Billboard album chart?

The rapper’s latest release, Views, earned 1.04 million equivalent album units, including 852 thousand copies sold, for the week ending Thursday to top the Billboard 200 chart, according to Nielsen Music figures. Not only is it his best-selling week to date, but it’s also the best-selling week for any artist so far this year.

This is Drake’s sixth #1 album in a row, including his 2015 mixtape with Future, What a Time to Be Alive.

Views set a streaming record as well. It was streamed 245.1 million times, easily snapping the previous mark of just over 100 million set by Justin Bieber‘s Purpose during its debut week last November.

Beyonce‘s Lemonade fell from #1 to #2 on the current Billboard 200, earning 321 thousand units. Prince‘s Purple Rain soundtrack and The Very Best of Prince follow, with 75 thousand units and 70 thousand units, respectively.
