Cash Money/Epic RecordsDrake and Future‘s collaborative album, What a Time to Be Alive, is on pace to enjoy a huge sales start.
According to Hits Daily Double, industry insiders estimate that the project will sell approximately 500,000 units its first week.
The duo unleashed the project on Sunday, September 21 with no advanced promotion — similar to how Drizzy issued his latest album, If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late, which sold 494,746 albums its first week and became the first rap album to go platinum this year.
The last collaborative rap album to generate big first-week sales was Jay Z and Kanye West‘s Watch the Throne, which sold 437,000 albums its first week back in 2011.
