Cash Money/Epic RecordsDrake and Future are taking fans behind-the-scenes in the making of their collaborative album, What a Time to Be Alive, which was released without advance warning over the weekend.
The video, which is posted on YouTube, begins with the entertainers talking about their surprise mixtape, inside an Atlanta studio with producers like Metro Boomin.
“Right now the s*** we making like changes the game. Everybody has to go back to the drawing board,” Future says, with Drake adding “Yes! That’s the best part.”
Future adds while many will wonder how their collaboration even came together, he says, “We just did it for the music.”
Industry insiders estimate the project will sell approximately 500,000 units its first week. The duo are on pace to generate larger first-week sales than Jay Z and Kanye West‘s Watch the Throne, which sold 437,000 albums its first week back in 2011.
