Image Courtesy Eric McCandless/CBSDrake shows off his acting chops in a short film entitled Jungle, which arrives on the six-year anniversary of his breakout mixtape So Far Gone.
The cinematic 15-minute visual opens with Drake being chauffeured in a Rolls-Royce. “The whole energy out here is just changing. It’s just getting dark, man, quick,” he says. “I’m f**king drinking more, I’m smoking more. We’re out here staying up so late that it’s early. I’m just more worried about myself. I just gotta come home.”
Filmed in Toronto and L.A., the rapper includes archived footage of his journey, including childhood clips and scenes of present-day Drake with his friends.
Just before the film ends, though, Drizzy hints at releasing his long-awaited mixtape over a new song. “These days, I’m letting God handle all things above me / The things that I can’t change are the reasons you love me,” he sings.
