Earlier this year, Ty Dolla $ign released his major label debut, Beach House EP, which spawned his hit single, “Paranoid” featuring B.o.B. However, the rapper has already completed several tracks for his upcoming full-length studio effort.
“I’ve completed like eight tracks so far, but I’m still working on them and making them perfect,” he tells ABC News Radio. “Everybody wants me to put out something now, I’m just waiting until it’s like all the way done and I’m about to, like, drop a whole bunch of features and singles, I’m just waiting.”
Ty, who is signed to Wiz Khalifa‘s Taylor Gang Records, reveals what fans can expect on the untitled project, which will arrive later this year.
“If you like go back to all my tapes or whatever and go, like, from House on the Hill to Beach House 1, it’s a little bit of growth. So I’m just going to take it up even higher and higher, spend more money back into my own project,” he says. “At first I was like mixing and recording everything at the house. I actually did ‘Paranoid’ in my living room. So it’s just going to sound better because the quality is going to get better, the equipment is going to get more expensive and, you know, we’re going to kill it.”
In the meantime, Ty explained to ABC News Radio that he’s still looking to push singles from his Beach House EP. “The next single they’re about to impact is ‘Or Nah,’ just because it entered the [Billboard] Hot 100 without us even trying, you know what I’m saying?” Ty says. “So they’re going to impact that and every show I do, everywhere, like everybody is singing all the words to ‘Or Nah’ so I’m like, we might as well go with ‘Or Nah.'”
“Now ‘Or Nah’ is like doing the same thing that ‘Paranoid’ was doing, if not better. So I’m just excited man, for real,” he adds.
Fans can see Ty Dolla $ign performing his new material during his upcoming Beach House Tour, beginning April 29 at Strummers in Fresno, California and wrapping up on May 22 in his hometown of Los Angeles, CA at the El Rey Theatre. Tickets are available for select venues via Ticketmaster.com.
