Philadelphia native son DJ Drama has been a mainstay in hip hop for over a decade now. His Gangsta Grillz mixtape/album series has helped propel the careers of some of music’s most notable superstars (T.I., Lil Wayne), and, he recently added DJ of Year at the 2013 BET Hip Hop to his already crowded mantle of plaques. He also has a new job. Atlantic Records chairman and CEO Craig Kellman released a statment saying, “DJ Drama brings brilliant instincts and consummate skills to our A&R team. A hugely influential force in the hip-hop community, I know he’ll be a tremendous asset in signing and developing artists and making amazing records.” So congrats to the Drama King are certainly in order.
