Diddy has become a fixture on Forbes‘ annual list of the Five Wealthiest Hip-Hop Artists, but this year he’s come in first.
The mogul sits atop the list with a reported net worth of $735 million due to his various business ventures, including profits from Ciroc, his fashion brands Sean John and Enyce, alkaline water brand Aquahydrate, new tequila DeLeon and multimedia network Revolt.
Dr Dre follows him closely at $700 million, thanks to last year’s purchase of his Beats by Apple, while Jay Z comes in third with an estimated net worth of $550 million.
Elsewhere, 50 Cent returns in the top five with fortune of $155 million following the success of his SMS headphones, Effen vodka and Frigo underwear business ventures. Birdman rounds off the top five with a reported net worth of $150 million.
The publication calculates the rankings based on current holdings and past earnings estimated by talking to analysts, attorneys, managers, other industry players.
