Outkast has called on Kid Cudi, Childish Gambino and Raury to serve as supporting acts for the rap duo’s homecoming shows, taking place later this fall in their home state of Georgia.
Kid Cudi expressed his excitement on Wednesday morning on Twitter. “Dream come true opening for Outkast, holy f**k lets go!”
Big Boi and Andre 3000 will take the stage at Atlanta’s Centennial Olympic Park. An originally scheduled show on September 27 is sold out, but tickets are on sale now for a newly added show to take place on September 26. Additional performers will be announced for the shows, officially dubbed #ATLast. Tickets are available via the event’s website, OutkastAtLast.com.
“It’s only right that we give the hometown what we’ve been giving the rest of the world: Atliens in ATL, homecoming! Festival Killers,” Big Boi said in a previous statement. “We want to say thank you” to Atlanta, Andre 3000 added.
Outkast’s Atlanta concerts is just the latest in a string of performances this year marking the group’s 20th anniversary. They are scheduled to perform about 40 times throughout the summer at festivals such as Lollapalooza, Summerfest 2014 and the second annual BET Experience.
