Ice Cube announced on Twitter that his new CD will arrive in May. He tweeted, “EVERYTHANGS CORRUPT street date: May 13, 2014. Everythang’s Corrupt will be the rapper’s tenth solo CD and his first new music in more than three years, following I Am the West which was released in September 2010.
Cube told TheSource.com that one tune on the CD conveys the album’s message about corruption. “There’s a song on there called ‘Dominate the Week’ which is basically what they do to the people in the system. They put the sheep to sleep and then they dominate the week. That’s one tone…it’s a metaphor.”
The former NWA member is now promoting his new movie Ride Along co-starring Kevin Hart that opens January 17. Cube portrays a policeman on patrol in Atlanta with a security guard, played by Hart, who wants to permission to marry his sister.
