Bow Wow has landed a new acting gig. The rapper will co-star in CSI: Cyber, a spinoff of CBS’ popular CSI franchise, the network announced.
Bow will portray Brody “Baby Face” Nelson, a top hacker ordered by a judge to assist with a cyber case or go to prison. He will star opposite Patricia Arquette and James Van Der Beek in the upcoming series.
“Bow Wow is a gifted young actor who will have the responsibility, through his character, to set an example for young people who watch the show to ‘do what’s right’ even when you know ‘nothing but wrong,’” said Anthony E. Zuiker, creator of the CSI franchise. “It will be a redemption story and a cautionary tale all wrapped into one. The role of Nelson required someone with deep acting chops and off-the-charts smarts. Shad Moss [Bow Wow’s birth name] is a unique talent that possesses both.”
Bow is the latest rapper/actor to star in one of CBS’ crime procedural franchises — NCIS: Los Angeles features LL Cool J.
