Bobby Shmurda was arrested early Wednesday morning in New York city following a long-term investigation into drugs and guns conducted by the New York City Special Narcotics Prosecutor.
The rapper, born Ackquille Pollard, was arrested on a sealed indictment and is expected to appear in a Manhattan court on Thursday. Numerous guns were also seized in the operation. The arrest took place at Quad Studios in Times Square. Also arrested were members of Shmurda’s GS9 crew.
Earlier this year, Shmurda, who is best known for his popular “Shmoney Dance,” was arrested in connection with a felony gun charge. Shmurda also was arrested in October on a misdemeanor marijuana charge.
