Bobby Shmurda Arraigned on Prison Contraband, Perjury Charges

JUSTIN HOGAN/EPIC RecordsBobby Shmurda has been arraigned on prison contraband and perjury charges in New York City.

Bronx District Attorney Robert Johnson announced that the the rapper, birth name Ackquille Pollard, is accused of receiving a “sharp metal object” from his girlfriend Kimberly Rousseau, who was visiting Pollard last month at Rikers Island’s Anna M. Kross Center. She is being accused of reaching under her bra for a home-made knife and then handing it to Pollard.

Pollard, who is being held on $2 million bail for his alleged involvement in several shootings and drug trafficking, is also accused of falsely testifying to a grand jury about the incident. He later pleaded not guilty to all charges before being remanded to Rikers Island.

His girlfriend pleaded not guilty to three charges, including promoting prison contraband, when she was arraigned on the indictment on July 22. She was later released on her own recognizance.

Meanwhile, if Pollard is convicted of the charges, he faces up to seven years behind bars. He’s due back in court on October 14.
