Image Courtesy G.O.O.D. MusicBig Sean has done it. The rapper has scored his first number one album with his latest release, Dark Sky Paradise, which sits atop the Billboard 200 chart this week.
According to the publication, the rapper’s set did 173,000 in sales and streams in its first week, of which 139,000 copies were pure album sales. The disc also marks Sean’s highest sales start of his career.
“Thank u guys for an amazing week and giving me my 1st #1 album! Dark Sky Paradise! The support means everything. truly Blessed!” he tweeted.
The rapper’s mentor, Kanye West, also expressed his excitement a few days in advance. “So proud of my family Big Sean for his first number 1 album!!!! #Goodmusic!!!!”
Chris Brown and Tyga’s joint project, Fan of a Fan: The Album, debuts at #7 with 67,000 in sales and streams — Brown’s the seventh top 10 project, and the third for Tyga.
Elsewhere, Drake’s mixtape If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late slipped from #2 to #4 in its third week on the chart, with an additional 99,000 in sales and streams.
