Beyonce’s Lemonade Sales Sweet — Over 500K Units Projected

by

Parkwood/ColumbiaBeyonce‘s controversial album Lemonade is expected to sell between 500,000 and 600,000 copies in its first week, says HitsDailyDouble.

The album, which became available for download on iTunes and Amazon early Monday, had already reached the top of the iTunes album chart early Monday morning, second only to The Very Best of Prince.

If those projections hold true, Lemonade hasn’t done quite as well off the blocks as Beyonce’s 2013 surprise self-titled album, which sold 617,000 copies in the first three days of its release.  Also, her single “Formation,” which was previously unavailable for download, made it to #1 on the singles chart.

Lemonade premiered last Saturday as a HBO special, while the album was made available for streaming exclusively on Tidal the same night before later being released on iTunes and Amazon.

According to Billboard, the album is headed for #1 on the Top 200 Chart.
