Before Beyonce became Mrs. Carter to Jay Z, her teenage love was Lyndall Locke, who is now spilling the details about their young relationship.
In an interview with U.K.’s Daily Mail, Locke recalls how the couple shared their first kiss when Beyonce was 13 at a Brian McKnight concert.
“She was a little southern belle. She was an awesome kisser. We would hang out and do normal boyfriend-girlfriend things, although I was never allowed to stay over,” he recalled.
When they started dating, Locke also got a stern speech from Beyonce’s dad, Mathew Knowles, who was known as “Big Mac.”
“He gave me the talk about ‘not messing anything up,’” he said, insinuatingly. “Let me tell you, there was no messing with Big Mac. He gave me the third degree about who I was and what my intentions were.”
Lyndall added that they dated for a decade. “We were together for ten years. I saw the changes in her. She needed someone like Jay Z to take her to the next level. There’s no hard feelings,” he said.
