Beyonce has her assets on full display during her “On the Run” tour with Jay Z. The diva, who is known for her racy stage costumes, has garnered mixed reactions to the “butt-less” leotard she wears during the show. However, one of Beyonce’s background singers has come to her defense.
According to Idolator, Tiffany Monique Riddick, who is one-third of The Mamas, questioned why Bey’s critics are making a big deal of the stage attire.
“Why is it that every time a female entertainer wears something revealing, it’s assumed she felt like she ‘had’ to?” she wrote in a lengthy Facebook post, which was captured and posted by Idolator.
She continued, “Why aren’t men held by the same strict standards as women? Why is what she chooses to wear at her grown-ass-woman show any business of anyone else’s?”
For those who suggest Bey should tone it down for the sake of her young daughter Blue Ivy, Riddick points out: “She didn’t wear this to the daycare center.”
She also clarified that Bey’s cut-outs were made with skin-colored tights. “Many of us aren’t MAD that we WOULDN’T wear the same things; it’s cause we CAN’T.”
