Beyonce wrapped the Australian and New Zealand leg of her Mrs. Carter Show World Tour this past Saturday, and it proved to be a lucrative run. The singer sold almost 220,000 tickets and grossed more than Australian $40 million, or about 37 million U.S. dollars, according to Billboard.
Her outing also broke several attendance records. Her four-night stint at Auckland’s Vector Arena attracted a record-breaking 44,596 ticket-buyers, and the closing night at the Perth Arena saw Beyonce break Pink‘s record with 14,758 fans in attendance.
“I’ve been fortunate enough to have worked with Beyoncé since the first Destiny’s Child tour in 2000,” notes Michael Coppel, president and CEO of Live Nation Australasia, “but this tour has been an absolute standout in terms of the showcasing her unparalleled talent, energy and joy for performing in one of the most spectacular productions ever to visit this country.”
