Beyonce Remembers Charleston Shooting Victims

Beyonce is the latest celebrity to share her reaction to the slaying of nine people inside the Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, South Carolina Wednesday night.

“My heart is with the families, loved ones, and all of those affected by the senseless tragedy in Charleston,” Beyonce posted on Instagram. “May they rest in peace.”

Her thoughts are accompanied by a 15-second video at features the names of the victims superimposed over a photo of the Emanuel AME Church.

Meanwhile, Beyonce’s Destiny’s Child bandmate Kelly Rowland reminded everyone to keep the peace. “‘Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.’ – MLK; My heart is still breaking over this,” Rowland wrote on Instagram.  “Let us all take some time out today to say a prayer for those we lost in Charleston and for their families.”

The alleged gunman, 21-year-old Dylann Roof, has been captured and is in jail in Charleston.  He as reportedly confessed to the crime.
