Beyonce is known to slay when it comes to her fashion, but according to her stylist Ty Hunter, the diva has the uncanny ability to exude confidence in whatever she’s wearing.
“You can throw anything on someone, but it’s about selling the garment. She has a confidence that shines through,” Ty told E! News. “It’s not just the clothes; it’s who you are.”
Having worked with Queen Bey from the beginning of her solo career, Hunter recalled some of his favorite looks from the international superstar, beginning with Bey’s sparkly artwork for her first solo album, Dangerously in Love. “This is the beginning of the whole Beyoncé experience to me — when she went solo,” Ty explained.
He also points to that orange Lanvin dress Beyonce wore at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards: “When she announced the pregnancy, it was an emotional moment,” he recalled. “We were hiding it for so long, and that day, I think the world was crying.”
Of course, who can forget her sheer Givenchy gown that she wore to the 2015 Met Gala: “It was sexy but classy and beautiful. It was very heavy though — the heaviest gown she’s ever worn actually,” said Hunter, who walked the carpet to assist her.
The stylist ends by mentioning the lacy Michael Costello Beyonce rocked at the 2014 Grammy Awards: “It’s now in the museum!” Ty said. “I met Michael at an event and I was like, ‘What is that?!’ It didn’t even have a zipper or anything. And he made it, the day before the Grammys.”
