Bey dedicated the final song of the night to the victims of Sunday night’s shooting, and their family members. She introduced the song “Halo” as “a song about love” then offered that the song was “to all of the family members who lost family members in Florida”.
The incident at The Pulse nightclub on Sunday, June 12 in Orlando, Florida, was the deadliest mass shooting in the United States and the most violent assault on the U.S. LGBT community, with 49 people murdered and dozens more injured.
“Halo” is from the 2008 Beyoncé album I Am… Sasha Fierce.
The Formation World Tour kicked off in Miami at Marlins Park on April 27 and now moves across the pond, where the singer will launch the European leg in Sunderland, England June 28. Beyoncé will return to the U.S. for more shows in September.
