Beyonce was overwhelmed with emotion while closing her Mrs. Carter Show World Tour in Lisbon, Portgual on Thursday night.
Before she performed her latest hit, “XO,” fan footage captured the singer expressing her gratitude to her fans during the final show at MEO Arena.
“If ya’ll didn’t know, tonight makes 132 shows,” said Beyonce. “Tonight is the last show of the Mrs. Carter Show.”
The 32-year-old singer, who began the tour on April 15, 2013 in Belgrade, Serbia, also acknowledged her band and crew. “We started a year ago. I wanna say this has been such a journey. In the past year, we’ve been through so much together, the Super Bowl, shooting the videos, all of these shows,” Bey said. “When I first started the tour, my baby was not even walking.”
“I just want you to know that I am so lucky,” she said with tears rolling down her face. She then joked, “I’m giving ya’ll the ugly cry.”
The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour has reportedly generated more than $200 million in gross receipts after traveling to North America, South America, Australia and Asia.
