Back in July, author J. Randy Taraborrelli promised to deliver intimate details of Beyonce‘s life in an upcoming biography titled Becoming Beyoncé: The Untold Story. Now, we get a better understanding behind the rumors surrounding Rihanna nearly breaking up the happy couple.
Taraborrelli reveals the truth behind the bogus love triangle story with Rihanna, according to an excerpt obtained by New York Daily News. The whispers of Jay secretly hooking up with Rih Rih were concocted by the then 17-year-old singer’s publicist Jonathan Hay to increases sales for her first single “Pon de Replay.” “It was all a stunt,” said Hay.
The author notes that Beyonce actually believed the speculation and the couple later split briefly in 2005. It wasn’t until they married that Jay honored Beyonce. “He is basically nothing at all — and I mean absolutely nothing — like what you would expect him to be,” one pal told the author. “Sure he has the swagger, he has the bad boy vibe, he has the dangerous gangster thing. But when it came to Beyonce Knowles, all that s*** had pretty much melted away by 2007. Everyone could see that she was his biggest concern.”
The book also details when Bey lost her virginity, the Met Gala incident, Blue Ivy‘s strict regimen, and even notes that Beyonce and Solange have not contacted the two children their father Mathew Knowles had by other women.
Becoming Beyoncé: The Untold Story will be available on October 27.
