B.o.B will release his third studio album, Underground Luxury, next month, which is a project he says will highlight his growth as an artist. The Atlanta rapper shared with ABC News Radio what he’s aiming to give fans on his upcoming project from the production to song content.
“I’m trying to grow with my fans, you know what I’m saying? Because it’s more than just music,” he says. “Before, when I started and when I was an underground artist, I wanted to show everybody like, ‘Look what I can do, look I can do this, I can do this.’ But then I found a deeper purpose in music. It’s more about culture, and I’m just trying to show people the full picture and I think Underground Luxury does that.”
The 15-track disc includes the 2 Chainz-assisted single “HeadBand,” “Ready” featuring Future and a collaboration with Chris Brown, all of which were records that Bobby Ray says came together very organically. “Every feature on the album happened that way,” he says.
B.o.B, who also recruited T.I. and Juicy J, tells ABC News Radio that keeping his collaborations to a minimum allowed him to highlight more of himself on the project.
“And I actually don’t have that many features on the album,” he shares. “But I think it’s dope because I’m doing most of the production and it’s just a lot more me on it. It’s a real, up-close-and-personal type of album, you know. You feel like you’re right there with me.”
Underground Luxury will arrive on December 17.
