Albums by Rick Ross, Toni Braxton Among Those to Look Forward to in 2014

by

UMG/Jonathan Mannio; ToniBraxton.com2013 featured awesome music projects, ranging from Jay Z‘s Magna Carta… Holy Grail to Beyonce‘s surprise visual album. However, 2014 may be just as exciting with highly anticipated albums due from top artists including Chris Brown‘s X, Mariah Carey‘s The Art of Letting Go, Nicki Minaj‘s Pink Friday: The Pinkprint and Wiz Khalifa‘s Blacc Hollywood, among others.

Later this month, hip-hop heads can expect to hear Rick Ross‘ upcoming album, Mastermind, which marks his sixth studio effort. Rozay decided to push the album back from its original December 17, 2013, release date, tweeting: “I’m still putting the final touches on the album… I’ma get it to you ASAP.” In the meantime, fans can download his new single, “The Devil Is a Lie” featuring Jay Z, on iTunes now.

In February, Toni Braxton and Babyface are scheduled to issue their first joint album, Love, Marriage & Divorce. The set from the two R&B legends was initially expected to arrive on November 25, but the new launch now aligns with Valentine’s Day. The 11-track album is currently available for pre-order and includes their hit single “Hurt You.”

Ashanti will drop her long-awaited disc, Braveheart, on March 4; while rap rookie YG will unleash his debut effort, My Krazy Life, on March 18.

2014 will also see releases from two new female emcees, both of which faced unexpected delays and push backs.

Iggy Azalea recently told the Australian Herald Sun that she had no clue when her debut album, The New Classic, would be released, after it was originally scheduled to be issued late last year. Now, however, the disc is slated for a March release and will include her singles “Work” and “Change Your Life.”

Azealia Banks‘s fans will finally get to hear the rapper’s debut album, Broke with Expensive Taste, which was delayed nearly a year and a half after its originally planned release date. Banks announced via her Twitter account that the set will arrive in January.
