Every once in awhile, a moment occurs in time that feels important. A moment that feels like a page gets turned, feels like things shift a little bit. Yesterday’s release of Child in the Wild by Dallas-based producer/recording artist Blue, The Misfit on RedBull.com felt like one of those moments on the Dallas hip hop timeline. Child in the Wild is a sharp turn away from “traditional” hip hop that’s come from Dallas, but is really a definitive microcosm of what’s been happening on the Dallas underground scene over the past couple of years.
